Amazon Stores - Inbound Receive Tool
Amazon
An Android tool for Amazon associates to receive inbound shipments.
I worked on the Inbound Receive Tool, a web app designed for associates in Amazon physical stores like Amazon Fresh and Amazon Go. As the most experienced frontend developer on the team, I was responsible for making key design decisions and establishing best practices. I introduced tools such as ESLint, Prettier, Jest unit testing (with 90% code coverage enforcement), Git hooks, and implemented a build pipeline to ensure that linting and tests passed with each release. The app was built using React and TypeScript, and I played a significant role in developing major features while also assisting senior developers with debugging and React best practices.
This tool replaced three separate associate tools, consolidating their functionality into one, which significantly reduced the time store associates spent switching between apps. I traveled to physical stores to gather insights from associates, which directly influenced the app's design, leading to a 10% improvement in the efficiency of receiving inbound shipments. By streamlining workflows, the Inbound Receive Tool allowed store associates to work more efficiently and helped optimize Amazon's in-store operations.
